Five interesting things that Hodges Capital research analysts discovered this week...

#1 CONSUMER SURVEY: KeyBanc surveyed over 1,000 domestic consumers between August 29 and September 7 and found that inflation concerns among all income levels remain near all-time highs in their data going back to 2Q18.

#2 BUYBACKS: With 2Q data finalized, the trailing 4-quarter dollar value of share repurchases has surpassed $1 Trillion, according to Strategas.

#3 INTERNET: According to the Federal Communications Commission, more than 97% of people had access to high-speed internet in 2021. Even more, the number of internet downloads increased by 26% between 2020 and 2021, while uploads grew by 49%.

#4 EGGS: The USDA division of Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service reported that approximately 35.6 million commercial layer hens and 1.0 million pullets have been depopulated due to the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). The total number of layer hens in the U.S. is currently around 305 million.

#5 61: Aaron Judge hit his 61st home run of the season Wednesday night, tying Roger Maris’ American League record that had stood for 61 years.
